Project Bridlington Spa RefurbishmentDownload PDF
Location: Bridlington
Client: East Riding of Yorkshire Council
Project Value: £2.85 million
Package: Refurbishment of Internal & External Works
Project Detail: This project was constructed over a two and a half year period with Sangwin starting in January 2006 after piling and demolition and being on site until the handover date in April 2008. We have since been invited back directly by ERYC to carry out a further £50,000 of work.Bridlington Spa was constructed in 1896 and the original features had to be carefully protected and retained.

We were closely involved with the design team in all structural matters as the design evolved after the demolition works revealed further problems with the existing fabric.

We constructed the following major elements of work:

  • All reinforced concrete foundations and slabs
  • External and internal underground drainage
  • A complete new land drainage installation including a pumping chamber
  • Reinforced concrete staircases
  • Builders works to Mechanical and Electrical services
  • Sheet piling and reinforced concrete retaining walls
  • Structural roof timbers
  • Gabion walls
  • Royal Hall suspended timber floor
  • Lift pits and associated works
  • A wave wall made from timber
  • Block paving and external works
  • Structural repairs to concrete and stonework
